  • GCP has launched the next version of cloud functions. It is significantly better than other FaaS and its own previous generation. You can spin up large instances to run functions and also for long processing time, reduced cold start latency, and much more.

Tools to Explore

Steampipe | select * from cloud;

Steampipe is an open-source project which allows querying all popular cloud resources such as AWS, GCP, Azure, GitHub, Kubernetes, and many more via its plugin-based approach. Each cloud is treated like a schema and its resources are tables. So you can use it for multi-joins of data from various sources. It is used in auditing, checking compliance and for any automation needs, you may have around these resources.

Fugue’s Regula

Regula uses Open Policy Agent to check compliance against Terraform and Kubernetes manifests and strengthen the security of the workload. It works for GCP, Azure, AWS, and Kubernetes. It can be integrated into the CI pipeline or as a pre-commit hook in your local git.

Promlens

Prometheus’ queries are sometimes hard to write. Promlens will make your life easier if you have to write a lot of queries in Grafana / Prometheus.
